Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner-Track Coordinator
(MSN & BSN-DNP entry tracks)
We are recruiting for the academic ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and/or Professor, commensurate with experience.
Founded in 1890, the School of Nursing (SON) was the first nursing program in the Southwest. UTMB provides a rich interprofessional environment conducive to teaching, practice, and research across the Schools of Nursing, Medicine, Health Professions, Public and Population Health and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. The SON is an Apple Distinguished School with a state-of-the-art laboratory for bio-behavioral research, and the Research Innovation and Scientific Excellence (RISE) Center. UTMB has four tertiary care campuses, a network of primary and specialty care clinics, and a 160,000-square-foot Health Education Center for Simulation and Interprofessional Education.
Specific Job-Related Duties
Effectively use innovative, state-of-the-art teaching methodologies and learning activities that promote excellence in classroom and online instruction.
Participate in course design, development, implementation, and evaluation to provide appropriate learning experiences for students.
Serves as academic advisor to students.
Demonstrate competence and leadership within a defined area of nursing practice.
Exhibits leadership in clinical settings for increased collaboration with nursing colleagues and other disciplines.
Disseminate scholarly work in professional publications/presentations
Direct and engage in scholarship that contributes to the advancement of nursing knowledge and nursing practice.
Participates actively in local, state, national, and international professional organizations.

Requirements
Qualifications: Required
An earned doctoral degree in nursing or related field is required. MSN in nursing is required.
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse/APRN in the state of Texas.
Current certification as an Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Qualifications: Preferred
Teaching experience at the university level, clinical experience in specialty area, a defined scholarship focus, and demonstrated leadership skills.
Track Coordinator role provides academic leadership, overseeing curriculum quality, student recruitment and retention, faculty mentorship, and strategic development in collaboration with program leadership.
