- Associate Attorney - Insurance Coverage - 2 to 5 Years of Experience

Rymer, Echols & Nelson-Archer, P.C. is a premier insurance coverage and litigation defense law firm founded in 1992. We are currently seeking an associate attorney with 2-5 years of experience in an insurance coverage practice, with a solid understanding of insurance policy interpretation. Candidates must have strong analytical, research and writing skills as well as the ability to work both independently and within a team environment. The position will initially involve non-litigated insurance coverage work, including research, writing opinion letters, and advising clients on their obligations with respect to claims handling and coverage issues. The practice has an active coverage litigation practice, and while not required, litigation experience would be a bonus, including drafting pleadings and participating in discovery and case management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and counsel to clients regarding both first-party and third-party insurance coverage matters, including property, casualty, liability, and other commercial policies.
- Analyze and interpret insurance policies to determine coverage, exclusions, limits, and obligations for both policyholders and insurers.
- Manage insurance coverage disputes from inception to resolution, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Represent clients in coverage litigation related to first-party (policyholder claims) and third-party (liability claims) disputes, including appearing at hearings, mediations, and trials.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research on issues related to first-party and third-party insurance coverage, including relevant statutes, regulations, and case law.
- Negotiate settlements and work with adjusters, experts, and other professionals to resolve coverage disputes.
- Review and draft settlement agreements, release documents, and other legal contracts related to insurance claims.
- Work closely with clients to explain complex coverage issues, analyze potential liabilities, and develop effective legal strategies.
- Monitor ongoing cases, manage deadlines, and ensure that all legal documents are filed accurately and on time.
- Stay current on developments in insurance law, including changes to state and federal regulations and industry standards.
Competitive salary, annual performance-based raises, discretionary bonus, and benefits package offered. 1920 hour billing requirement. This is a full-time in-office position with the potential for remote hybrid flexibility after ramp up. Candidates must be admitted and good standing in Texas.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
