Job Title: Clinical Nurse - Navigator
Location: Methodist Hospital
Department: IUH Cardiovascular Center
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Position Overview:
The Clinical Nurse - Navigator coordinates the care needs of assigned patients and develops comprehensive care plans to manage delivery across the patient care continuum. The Navigator partners with patients and their primary physicians to create customized care plans tailored to individual needs and preferences. This role collaborates with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely tests, treatments, and follow-up. The Navigator advocates for the patient, balancing clinical needs and financial considerations to promote efficient and effective treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate patient care and develop personalized, comprehensive care plans.
- Partner with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless and coordinated care delivery.
- Advocate for patients' needs and preferences throughout the healthcare journey.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure timely testing, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Balance clinical effectiveness with cost efficiency to optimize patient outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with medical record requirements, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Maintain current knowledge of medical terminology, clinical workflows, and documentation standards.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Active RN license in Indiana or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
- Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program.
- 3-5 years of Cardiovascular clinical work experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Additional advanced life support certifications may be required per department policies.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, electronic medical records, and healthcare regulations.
- Proficiency with computers and software applications including word processing and databases.
