Job Summary | The Markey Cancer Center, Clinical Research Organization, is seeking to hire a Clinical Research Nurse I. This position will assist in clinical trials through evaluations and treatments of study subjects along with the attending physician and/or Principal Investigator. Essential duties of this position include, but are not limited to, daily screening to recruit subjects, as well as monitoring and instituting therapies and documentation related to research subjects and studies. The successful candidate will learn and follow good clinical practices in the conduct of research protocols, as well as assist the principal investigator with the reporting of serious adverse events. Furthermore, this position will assist in ensuring the welfare of study subjects, and self-evaluates work for completeness, accuracy and compliance to protocol. The University of Kentucky, an academic medical center, has maintained a strong strategic focus on clinical research and has made significant investments in the development and expansion of core research facilities, as well as the ability to strengthen engagement and translation of research. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Good oral/written communication skills required. Computer proficiency to minimally include use of Microsoft Office applications, email, and internet. Knowledge of scientific and clinical terminology preferred. |

Preferred Education/Experience | BSN preferred. All nurses hired after 10/1/2024 are required to complete their BSN within 5 years of their hire date. |
