- Faculty Director, Commercial Banking Program and Assistant Professor of Practice of Finance
Description
This teaching-centered position carries a standard 21 credit hours per academic year, typically arranged as 3–4 or 4–3 across the fall and spring semesters. Contingent upon documented external engagement activities and programmatic needs, a workload reduction to 3–3 may be available. The primary teaching responsibilities will include courses in commercial banking, loan underwriting and credit analysis, and risk management.
The ideal candidate will incorporate case studies, simulations, and real-world banking insights into their instruction. Maintaining strong industry relationships is essential to support experiential learning opportunities, guest lectures, and career placement initiatives.
Additional responsibilities include:
1. Advising and mentoring students pursuing careers in banking and financial services
2. Supporting finance-related student organizations and case competitions
3. Representing the program at college and industry events
4. Promoting the program’s visibility and reputation at local and national levels
Requirements
Masters Degree preferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree.
1. Master’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field (Doctorate preferred)
2. Substantial professional experience in commercial banking or financial services
3. Evidence of teaching excellence and/or impactful corporate training experience
4. Strong communication and organizational skills
5. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain industry partnerships and mentor students
