Description
University Enrollment Services (UES) supports the academic and student services missions of Indiana University by developing, coordinating, and managing university-wide shared services in the areas of admissions and transfer operations, financial aid, student records and data management, and military and veteran affairs. UES works closely with campus-based partners to enhance customer service; implement best practices; drive student-related technology development; comply with federal, state, and institutional guidelines; and support their overall enrollment and retention goals. This team uses data to identify new opportunities and to prioritize work, which drives innovation and creates efficiency across the University.Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Validates enrollment requirements.
- Monitors certification and confirmation of Title IV aid programs.
- Ensures the accuracy of financial awards.
- Maintains and updates financial aid programs and audits.
- Oversees return of Title IV Funds (R2T4).
- Serves as an information resource to students, potential students, and their families; explains the policies and procedures involved in applying for financial aid and/or scholarships.
- Processes and monitors files for applications and awards; updates as necessary for accuracy and completeness; ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Responds to email, phone, and in-person inquiries from applicants regarding status of application; notifies applicant of final decision.
- Monitors financial aid and/or scholarship accounts on a continuing basis; ensures compliance with scholarship requirements.
- Provides administrative and clerical support to department staff including word processing and scheduling.
- Develops and updates written informational materials regarding the policies and procedures involving in applying for financial aid and/or scholarships.
- Compiles and analyzes data and prepares various reports. Designates and completes audits on a regular basis. Identifies situational anomalies the require analysis and/or escalation.
- May provide guidance to other financial aid/ scholarship coordinators; takes on complex or escalated customer issues, referring to manager as appropriate. May make process recommendations to manager for improved operational efficiency.

EDUCATION
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
Required
- 4 years in customer service, office experience, or related field. Experience working with complex data and/or records services in a team environment preferred.

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
