Description
Job Title: Financial ControllerLocation: London / Hybrid
Sector: Technology Platform & Managed Services (Financial Services clients)
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Experience Level: 5-10 years PQE
Qualification: Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the finance lead on legal entity restructuring and rationalisation initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
- Provide financial governance and control oversight over legal entities during mergers, dissolutions, intercompany reorganisations, and entity wind-downs.
- Collaborate with legal, tax, treasury, and regulatory teams to assess the financial and control impacts of proposed entity changes.
- Manage the financial reporting, audit, and statutory obligations of affected entities through transition periods.
- Prepare and review financial statements (UK GAAP, IFRS, or local GAAP), ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
- Ensure appropriate controls are in place for intercompany transactions, capital injections, dividends, and reserves management throughout restructuring.
- Develop standardised processes and documentation to improve oversight across the legal entity landscape.
- Support capital structure planning, substance requirements, and local regulatory compliance.
- Act as a key finance SME to internal stakeholders (Legal, Strategy, Tax, Compliance, Group Finance).
Candidate Profile
Required:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- 6-10 years of relevant post-qualification experience, ideally gained in a financial services or SaaS company.
- Strong understanding of legal entity structures, statutory reporting, and control frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.
- Proven experience supporting legal entity rationalisation, M&A, or post-acquisition finance integration projects.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including Legal, Tax, Treasury, and FP&A.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and corporate governance in regulated financial services environments (e.g. FCA, PRA, HKMA, MAS).
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth or PE-backed environment is desirable.
- Familiarity with SaaS or platform-based revenue models
- Demonstrated experience preparing management packs, financial analysis, and board-level reporting
- Experience in a technology or managed services company serving financial services clients. Will also consider experience in the banking/asset management/insurance sector
- Advanced Excel and strong systems/ERP skills
