This position reports to the University Controller, within the Finance & Administration Department. The Financial Information System Technical Support Specialist performs the following duties:

The Financial Information System Technical Support Specialist will work with university administration, research administrators and a variety of accounting personnel across the University to provide technical training, consulting and support to the Portland State campus regarding the use of the University's financial information system. This position will nurture a healthy, supportive atmosphere for fiscal and administrative operations at the University and create processes that serve students, faculty and staff while maintaining internal controls.

This classification requires a basic foundation of knowledge and skills of technology and information systems generally obtained through an AA degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified course work in applicable fields of study and at least one year of related work experience.

Contributes to a culture of environmental stewardship, practices resource conservation, and actively works toward achieving long-term sustainability goals.

The starting salary rate for this position will be between $3,952 and $4,742 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience, with an excellent benefits package including 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon University System schools.
