Our client - an international private equity real estate fund focused on the luxury hospitality segment, seeks a Head of Accounting where you will have the chance to lead financial reporting, strengthen controls, and optimize accounting processes. This role offers significant visibility in the leadership team, providing strategic insights to drive sound decision-making and operational excellence across all entities. The position is based in Mexico City.
What the job involves
- Manage financial reporting and compliance, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements across multiple standards and currencies, including IFRS conversion
- Oversee the accounting operations such as general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and other core accounting functions
- Lead international consolidation of financial statements on global platforms for multiple entities
- Design and execute Techstack implementation including ERP, consolidation, and business intelligence tools
- Ensure accurate and timely information management between owner and operator; standardize information across all properties
- Strengthen internal controls by developing and enforcing policies to mitigate financial risks and ensure regulatory compliance
- Prepare for external and internal audits, ensuring full readiness and timely responses
- Support tax, legal, and statutory compliance: Oversee tax-related functions as they pertain to financial reporting and control
- Drive the optimization of accounting processes, policies, and workflows across the organization
- Ample years of leadership in finance, ideally within the hospitality or real estate sectors
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; a master's degree is highly preferred
- Strong proficiency of English at C1 level for professional and international communication
- Ample knowledge of financial reporting standards, general ledger, audit management, SOX Compliance, cash flow and working capital accounting
- Strategic thinker with solid decision making and problem-solving skills
- Dynamic leadership with solid team competences
- CPA certification is a plus
