Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants on the inpatient hematology/bone marrow transplant team will work collaboratively as a part of a multidisciplinary team and operate with a high level of autonomy. In this role, you will:
- Provide a comprehensive patient assessment, ordering and interpreting of appropriate laboratory tests and radiologic exams, diagnosis, treatment and management of chemotherapy side effects, and medical co-morbidities.
- Be expected to manage side effects and complications from underlying co-morbidities, hematologic disease and therapy, while collaborating with a consultant Hematologist and fellow.
- Consult and make referrals to physicians and other members of the health care team as appropriate and coordinate discharge planning.
In addition, you will provide educational support to patients and their families. You serve as mentors to fellow allied health professionals during their first year of practice. Additional opportunities to participate in research are available along with quality improvement projects. Professional growth opportunities include educating and precepting students, poster and journal club presentations, pursuing leadership and development through achieving academic rank, as well as presenting at our APP Hematology/Oncology continuing education course.

Requirements
Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, ACNP.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
Additional Qualifications:
Active BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required.
