Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN), Telemetry – Full-Time Days
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse provides and coordinates independent care to patients within the telemetry specialty as a fully effective and participative member of the multidisciplinary patient care team. This role utilizes the care delivery and professional practice models as the foundation for nursing practice. The RN is accountable to patients, families, and team members for the care provided and to the nurse manager for overall work performance. Nurses in this role are expected to uphold service standards and the mission, vision, and values of the nursing profession.
Principal Responsibilities
Clinical Practice
Provide competent, independent care for unit-specific patient populations.
Serve as a clinical resource for colleagues and integrate evidence-based practice into care.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate patient care, advocating for patient and family needs.
Support safe, timely, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered care.
Professional Development
Maintain competencies required for the patient care setting and actively engage in professional development.
Attend unit-based staff development and serve as a preceptor and coach for new nurses and students.
Contribute to orientation programs and skills development activities.
Complete continuing education as required.
Service/Quality
Support unit-based outcomes related to quality measures and patient care indicators.
Contribute to research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement initiatives.
Provide high-quality, patient-centered care focused on exceeding service expectations.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and participate in audits or tracer activities.
Patient Safety
Identify and correct risks to patient safety.
Report adverse events and near misses.
Consistently follow policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Maintain strong communication and collaboration with team members.
Support unit and organizational patient safety initiatives.
Operations
Demonstrate ability to function in the charge nurse role when assigned.
Participate in team-building, staff meetings, and governance structures.
Contribute to recruitment, retention, and peer review processes.
Provide constructive feedback and support performance improvement at the unit level.
Requirements
Qualifications
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligibility under Compact agreements.
Minimum of 12 months nursing experience with strong clinical knowledge and skills.
Current AHA BLS certification required.
Unit-specific certifications (e.g., PALS, ACLS) must be obtained and maintained as required.
