Description
Camp Cobbossee for Boys is looking for a SEASONAL Pediatrics Nurse for our large sports program. Work closely with our health center team, which consists of a head nurse, 4 RNs, and 3 nursing students, to ensure a safe experience for campers and staff by providing professional health care. Cobbossee is a sleepaway summer camp in Maine. We have built a reputation on excellent coaching and sports programming, as well as the traditions and activities that make our camp such an unusual and transformative experience.

This nursing position begins June 11th, 2025 and runs through August 9th, 2025
Details
Seasonal position in Monmouth, ME
Room and board provided, as well as travel allowance. (Our food is amazing)
Nurse Responsibilities
Intake and exit assessments of campers and staff
Routine daily sick call and administration of medications
Emergency care to all campers and staff
Prepare and administer medications daily in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
Give treatments as needed.
Review, update, maintain and file medical records.
Make appointments for campers and staff with pediatricians, dentists, eye doctors and other health care providers as needed
Transport campers or staff to nearest appropriate medical facility for non-life threatening emergencies. Transport campers to medical and dental appointments and make occasional trips to pick up prescriptions, medical equipment and supplies
On call during the night on a rotating basis.
Monitor and update ongoing list of needed supplies. Stock emergency room and First Aid Kits as needed.
Prepare and pack medications for camper day trips and overnight trips.
Laundry duties as needed for persons admitted to the health center for illness and observation.
Share the duties to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the health center.
Perform other related duties as needed or requested by the Nurse Manager or Camp Director.
Requirements
Nurse Qualifications
Registered Nurse Certification required
Current State of Maine nursing license, or current license in reciprocal state. Current CPR certification. Can provide help with the transference of license.
Pediatric experience preferred.
Current and valid driver’s license, and capable driver able to transport children.
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent clinical skills for working independently with pediatric and adult patients
Confidence in delivering routine and emergency care in a camp setting
Excellent documentation and communication skills for communication. Basic computer skills.
Physical ability to lift/assist campers and staff for treatment.
Able to maintain and enthusiastic presence to all campers, staff, and camper families
Show respect for all races, classes, creeds, and backgrounds, and sexual orientations
Able to execute nursing duties in a varied, indoor-outdoor environment, including negotiating uneven outdoor ground and some medium lifting (25 lbs).
