
Description
Hollister House Garden, a non-profit public garden located in Washington, CT, seeks a flexible, independent contributor to handle bookkeeping and constituent communication duties.
Responsibilities:
Financial – Bookkeeper
- Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks online.
- Pay bills, create, and update monthly budget report
- Verify and assemble all annual financial data and submit to tax preparer
Membership Communication Coordinator
- Create mailing list for membership brochure mailing. Ensure list is “clean” and accurate.
- Create monthly renewal lists and print reminder letters and envelopes
- Follow up non-renewals with a Constant Contact email (monthly)
- Log memberships in the database
- Generate thank you/acknowledgement letters
- Always keep current member mailing list up to date.
Annual Appeal
- Use eTapestry database to assemble target lists
- Create mailing lists
- Log donations
- Generate acknowledgement/thank you letters
Annual Garden Study Weekend Events
- Direct and manage all plant vendor communication for GSW.
- Assist with plant sale set up and management
Qualifications:
- Organized, detail-oriented, meticulous, flexible,
- Proficient with QuickBooks online, Word, and Excel.
- Knowledge of either of the following a plus: eTapestry, Constant Contact. Must be willing and able to be trained on new systems.
- Willing to work a hybrid schedule both in office (Washington, CT) and remotely.
Time required: 10-12 hours per week
Hourly compensation commensurate with experience
