Brief Summary of Job Duties:
The UCEAP Travel Insurance Liaison prepares monthly enrollment reports to be distributed to the travel insurance vendors and related service providers, including security and travel assistance services. They respond to inquiries from UCEAP students and employees about the travel insurance policy, referring them to the claims management company when appropriate. They negotiate on behalf of UCEAP students when policy language is unclear and requires clarification. They participate in the annual UCEAP travel insurance policy renewal process. The UCEAP Travel Insurance Liaison may open and/or monitor medical incident cases with the travel assistance company sub-contracted by the insurance company. They communicate with the security assistance provider to determine effective protocols and facilitate security evacuations. They participate in a review of service provided by these vendors that feeds into subsequent travel insurance renewal considerations.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Three or more years of relevant administrative experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Project management experience.
Strong research and analytical skills, including ability to develop, assess and synthesize information and recommendations from a variety of sources to develop strategically appropriate communications.
Superior interpersonal communication, teamwork, collaboration and client service skills, with demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with diverse groups.
Presentation skills that demonstrate the ability to articulate ideas and issues clearly, concisely, and persuasively.
Strong professional judgment, with proven ability to be a creative, strategic and critical thinker, and problem-solver in a culturally diverse, complex organization within a changing health/safety/risk management environment.
Technology skills including proficiency with MS Office, and databases; proficiency in use of electronic information delivery tools. Ability to: understand, analyze and draw conclusions from data, and conduct spreadsheet creation and analysis.
Experience using collaborative processes to develop procedures and guidelines that will work within each program site's organizational and cultural context to enhance student health and safety.
Ability to identify measures of system performance and actions to improve performance.
Ability to effectively develop policies; ability to interpret and apply policies and legal requirements to emergent situations.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, and to work calmly and effectively with the team responding to crisis situations, which may have changing deadlines and priorities.
Experience in risk management or international health and safety.
Special Conditions of Employment:
The UCEAP Systemwide Office is located in Goleta, CA (near the UCSB campus). Type of work arrangement eligibility: Hybrid. On-site presence will be required for leadership and staff meetings, delegation visits, training sessions, etc. The University is unable to pay or reimburse expenses prohibited by University policy, including travel expenses associated with commuting to the designated office.

Hiring/Budgeted Salary or Hourly Range: $69,500 to $74,000/year
Salary or Hourly Range: The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $69,500 to $74,000/year
Full Salary Range: $69,500 to $123,500/year
