THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The DAG is looking to fill one Auditor 1 position within the Bureau of County Audits - District Court and Row Offices.  In this position, you will assist in ensuring that commonwealth fines, costs, fees, taxes, restitution, and surcharges are properly assessed, collected, receipted, and remitted to the appropriate state agency.

Work duties include, but are not limited to:

• Researching, learning, and applying laws, regulations, guidelines, and auditing standards.
• Locating, evaluating, and analyzing records and other information.
• Creating, inputting, accessing, and retrieving data, including but not limited to audit work papers, audit findings, and audit/administrative reports.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: 

• Full-time employment.
• Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
• Position is for the Southeast region in the counties of Bucks, Philadelphia, Montgomery and Bucks Counties.
• Telework: You will be expected to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. 
• Routine travel to auditee sites in the posted region is required.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Requirements

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Degree from accredited college or university with at least 12 credits in accounting/auditing; or
• An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training in accounting, auditing, or a closely related field.

 Additional Requirements:

• You must possess a valid PA driver's license.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required): 

• One or more of the following certificates:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
  • Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP)
  • Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM)
  • Certified Government Financial Manager (CIA)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

Legal Requirements: 

• A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.
